The new office building

The building is a great place to work, except for the air quality for the first month.
Everything is new and shining and convenience. The kitchen is modern, we have plenty room to fit more people. APC only occupied half of the seats. So though Baogang sits in the middle of the building, right now we feel him pretty much at the edge. This is probably true for other teams as well.
We have pool table, foosball table in house.
Cafes are professional, fancy and convenient, but with reasonable prices.
Gym is not fully done yet. I am really looking forward to it.
After that is done, I would really feel like working in a 6-star hotel.

Give Praises

Now is the time to give praises to God. He used this earthquake to bless me greatly:
1) I get to go to the MSG explosion! I wanted to go. I heard the voice that I should go but failed to act on it. I even made the statement that if Steve goes I would go. This is probably because that deep down in my heart I know that it would take the same amount of big effort for him to go just as it was going to be for me to go. I had to change the flight (it would cost a lot of money) and delay my trip. MSG explosion is such a blessing and a breakthrough! I will blog about it more later.
2) I don't have to fly Taipei at all. Delta changed my flight directly to Beijing without any extra charge. If I wanted to do this, I'd have to pay extra RMB4000 (about $550). The ticket to fly from Taipei to Beijing is wasted. But that is nothing comparing the trouble and money I've saved through direct flight.
3) I didn't have to pay penalty for cancelling the hotel reservation in Taipei. The name of the hotel in English is The Grace Hotel. Tell me that is an accident. If they'd require a reasonable amount, I would pay for it. Yet they gracefully waived all the cancellation fee!
4) I've been hoping to receive the new target card and renewed driver license through mail before I go. They suppose to come during this weekend. If I had left on Friday, I won't be able to get them. Now I got them.
5) I get to meet Hanna again after so many appointment re-schedules. They need encourage and help! Thank God that I get to meet her after all charged up from the past few weeks that I have the right attitute to pray for her.
6) I don't have to drag the 3 luggages from the car rental return place to the check-in counter. I could be dropped off at the curb directly!
7) I don't have to stay in Japan exposing to the dangers it might have. Of course I know that even if I have to, God must call me into a situation for His purpose. I have nothing to be afraid of.

Thank you God, my heavenly father, for everything you've done for me! Isn't there anything that you couldn't do? Now tell me what I could do for you!

Salt Covenant

Salt covenant is the covenant based on friendship.
In ancient days, salt is very precious. And once you mix salt from both sides, you cannot separate them fully again. So ancient peoople using the ritual of exchanging salt to indicate establishing friendship.
When God is making the covenant with Abraham, it is a salf covenant. Abraham invited God into his tent to eat bread using salt together.

Let there be light

This first sentence that God has said that have ever been recorded actual has a meaning of "let there be an order". In Hebrew, the word light has the same root as that of word order. So when Jesus said that we'd be light and salf of the world, he meant for us to bring God's order into the world.
God's order brings peace and joy. I am not sure if this is just ancient people's understanding of the relationship between order and light or this is from God's revelation. I think it is the latter.

MSG explosion first day

We just came back from the whole day MSG explosion teaching. A lot of heavy stuff that I've seen Robert has been doing.
The class material is edited by Dr. Bill Hamon from Christian International Ministries Network.
Especially interesting stuff is about the mind. There are 5 types of mind: the spiritual mind, the soulish mind, the natural mind, the carnal mind and the reprobate mind.

I am so blessed that I am not on the airplane flying to Taipei right now. :)

Staying extra days for MSG

I said that if Steve is going to MSG then I would go.
Thursday Betty told me that Steve would go. I chickened out in keeping up my word and didn't change my plane ticket to Taipei -- everything has been planned out perfectly, hotels, shuttle buses etc. It would be too much of hassel to change now.
Then there was 8.9 earth quake in Japan last night. Narita airport is closed. Now they changed my flight directly to Beijing on Monday afternoon. So I get to go MSG now after all.
Later on canceling the hotel booked in Taipei has no issue -- they did the full refund without any fee!

Isn't God awsome?

Thought I'd written something about gratitude and presumpous next.

Doors opened to blessings

Recently I've really been experiencing God's blessings through prayers. Big things or small things, after a simple prayer, they get resolved smoothly.

Just as when I am amazed by this new found ability, I am also thinking what has changed in me that made this happen -- faith and obedience. I've always loved Jesus. But that love could have been only on the surface. Unless one has learnt to love through obey, that is not real love. Many times obedience meaning sacrifices and we don't like that. We'd like to have a payless love which is only a lip service. God wants to change us within and it can only be done through painful obedience. After that, blessings flood in. Prayers are only keys to open the doors.

After realizing this, Lord also told me the secret to keep the keys to continue to work. That is to ask His will, not my own will. If most of my prayers are for my own earthly benefit, that would be a misuse of power.

Elevator -- Food for Thoughts

In our building, we have to switch elevator from the parking garage to the 8th floor offices. One could switch either at the 2nd floor or the 3rd floor. At the 3rd floor there is the front desk and a heavy door that requires one to swipe the badge.

For Zhen, he needs to validate his parking ticket at the front desk which is at 3rd floor. So his strategy is that when coming to work, he switches at 3rd floor and when going back home, he switches at the 2nd floor.

I always switch at 3rd floor. I need to validate my tickets too.

A lady I met left our elevator at the 2nd floor and I joined her again into the same elevator at the 3rd floor.

What would be your strategy?

Back on the blog

Now 2008 has passed with the glory of the Olympic games are achived and sealed in the history. Only here and there the street signs like "Beijing 2008 One World One Dream" still remind us the once and forever.
Now 2009 has passed with the stressful work and the leaving and going of the collegues.
Now 2010 has passed with the most sad lost to the dearest.
Now the end of the first quater of 2011 is around the corner and I am back to the blogspot. So many has happened and I've tried the twitter. Still I want to get back to the blog just for the freedome of writing.
